Chloe Lickliter is the girl who got away from the tiny home town with no prospects. She went to college and got a good job. But under her control and success is a chasm of secrets and a sense that things are spiraling.

Teresa Lickliter is the older sister stuck in a cashier’s job with a husband out of work and three kids.  She’s been trying to take care of her mother, but her mother has not been cooperative.

Dr. Raymond Diendes is a therapist specializing in hoarding.  He’s seen a lot of horrible situations, but the Lickliter house has surprises even for him.

Nadine Lickliter is a widow and a hoarder.  Years of grief and self-isolation have made her connections with reality more and more tenuous.  Her girls are the only things that really matter to her—well that and the hoard.
